A talented developer at the office I enjoy working with came to me one day with an interesting idea. He wanted to turn the “Right Now” feed found within the right rail of section fronts on USAToday.com into its own section/destination on the site. Since all of the content was already available, all we had to do was come up with an interface that was engaging and allowed users to navigate the vast amount of content that flows throughout this feed. He handled all of the data and back-end developement, while I provided the design and front-end code. The result was the “Right Now” full page view! A fairly simple idea that went from being just a prototype to part of the USA Today homepage.
